Hi,
I recently returned from Ukraine and wanted to give an update to all of you who donated to support the effort.
As a reminder, since the start of the war, we have been organizing what we call "freedom convoys." We purchase trucks, convert them for military use, and drive them ourselves to Ukraine, where they are donated to front-line units in urgent need. I do not make a penny from this. On the contrary, I have personally invested tens of thousands, put in countless hours, and drive the trucks across the border. All of this to say: your money goes extremely far with this initiative.
This was my seventh convoy, and the biggest one yet.
Thanks to the High Yield Landlord community, we raised ≈$160,000 for this trip. That allowed us to buy 7 trucks, each of which was converted for military use and equipped with drone jammers, night vision, camouflage, and mud tires.
We then drove them from Tallinn to Kyiv, where they were handed over directly to pre-selected military units who need them most.
An accountability video will be published in a few weeks on our YouTube channel. It will show each truck, along with interviews from the recipient units.
In the meantime, here are a few pictures.
In this first photo, I am standing in Kyiv with Jeff, a High Yield Landlord member and one of our largest donors. He has now joined me on three convoys. You can see the Motherland Monument in the background. (If you are interested in joining a future convoy, please email me at jaskola@leonbergcapital.com.)
In the next photos, you can see most of the trucks. Together with other volunteers, we prepared and delivered 29 vehicles on this convoy alone. In total, we have now delivered over 700 trucks since the start of the war - more than many individual countries.
In this last photo, I am with my brother, Joni (who also has a YouTube channel covering the war), along with several old friends from my time in the Finnish military. All of them now volunteer to support this mission:
These trucks are desperately needed.
Despite the advanced weapons systems being supplied to Ukraine, there are still massive gaps in basic logistics—especially transport. Many soldiers lack the ability to evacuate the wounded, escape shelling, or deliver supplies simply because there are not enough vehicles. It has been estimated that a single truck can help save the lives of up to 30 Ukrainian soldiers.
None of this would be possible without your support, so thank you again.
I have said this before, and I will say it again: I am constantly blown away by the support from this community. Most of you have never met me in person, and yet you trust me enough to contribute to something this important. I am deeply grateful. You are truly making a difference for Ukraine.
As a final touch, since many of the donations came from U.S.-based members, we once again added American flags to some of the trucks:
Stay tuned for our full video.
Thank you so much again!
Please keep it up. It's a noble cause.
